5 Wedding Venues in Florence

Wedding Venues in Florence: 5 Places We Love for a Destination Wedding in Tuscany

Florence is a city like no other: centuries of art, architecture, and culture shape every street, every palace and every garden, making it one of the most sought-after locations for a destination wedding in Tuscany and throughout Italy.

When dreaming of a wedding in Tuscany, many couples picture the countryside: vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills stretching toward the horizon. What many don’t consider is that Tuscany offers another kind of experience too: a wedding in the heart of Florence, surrounded by the city’s beauty and history, or in the hills just outside, with breathtaking views over its skyline.

If the Tuscan countryside is what you have in mind, we have shared some of our favorite venues here. If Florence is the setting that speaks to you, these are five places we love and the unique atmosphere each one can offer.

For a Wedding with a View: Villa di Maiano

Perched in the hills of Fiesole, Villa di Maiano is one of the most iconic wedding venues overlooking Florence. With its historic architecture and panoramic terrace, it offers breathtaking views over the city’s skyline.

We’ve had the pleasure of designing very different celebrations here, each one highlighting a different side of the venue.
For S&S, we created two serpentine tables whose curves echoed the couple’s shared initials, transforming the reception into a bespoke design statement.
For M&M, the terrace became the setting for a long imperial table dressed with green and blue toile china, striped linens, vintage fringed lamps, and playful, colorful details that brought a contemporary twist to the historic surroundings.

For Frescoed Elegance: Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte

In the hills surrounding Florence, Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte combines frescoed interiors and gardens that unfold toward the countryside beyond.

For two celebrations we designed here, we approached the spaces in completely different ways.
For D&L, the evening began with a cocktail hour in the garden before moving inside to the villa’s frescoed gallery for the reception. Candlelight illuminated the historic interiors, creating an intimate, atmospheric setting where the architecture became part of the experience.
For H&S, the experience was completely different: the ceremony took place inside the frescoed hall, followed by a reception in the Italian garden, where two imperial tables were set beneath a canopy of greenery and hanging chandeliers.

For a Wedding in the Heart of Florence: Palazzo Corsini

Right in the historic center, along the banks of the Arno River, Palazzo Corsini is the choice for couples dreaming of a wedding immersed in the history and beauty of Florence. Here, monumental rooms speak for themselves, and the architecture becomes the main character.

For A&P, after a ceremony at Santa Maria Novella, the palace’s grand internal courtyard became an elegant and grandiose evening setting: a long imperial table, rows of candlelight, white roses, and warm pink lighting illuminating the historic walls.

For Vineyard Serenity: Villa Medicea di Lilliano

A short drive from Florence, into the Chianti hills, brings you to Villa Medicea di Lilliano, a historic wine estate surrounded by vineyards and centuries of winemaking tradition. Lilliano is perfect for couples who want to remain close to the city while embracing the slower rhythm of the Tuscan countryside.

Here, we designed a beautiful autumn wedding for B&D: a palette of peach and dusty blue, hanging chandeliers intertwined with greenery, and pomegranates and soft fruit scattered across the pale blue linen.

For Renaissance Gardens and Timeless Views: Villa Gamberaia

In Settignano, just above Florence, Villa Gamberaia is a historic villa known for its Italian geometric gardens and quiet Renaissance architecture. For couples looking for elegance without excess, and a refined garden wedding surrounded by history and nature, Villa Gamberaia offers an extraordinary setting.

For C&C, we curated a pink-and-white wedding that balanced the villa’s rich heritage with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic, featuring blush and white florals cascading from draped pedestals along the ceremony aisle. The reception continued on the garden lawn, with long tables dressed in white and floral arrangements combining anthurium, garden roses, dahlias, and hydrangeas. Beyond the hedges, the Florentine hills completed the setting.

Choosing a Wedding Venue in Florence: Finding the Place That Feels Like You

Florence offers something special for destination weddings, with a variety of venues where history, architecture, and landscape come together to create unforgettable experiences.

Choosing the right wedding venue can sometimes feel overwhelming, but the most important thing is finding a place that feels truly yours, one that reflects your story and the experience you want to create, rather than simply following trends or choosing a venue because it is well-known.

At Olivia Sodi Studio, we help our couples navigate every step of this process, because the most memorable weddings are not only celebrated in beautiful places, but in places that feel authentic, personal, and deeply connected to the couple.
